The first wave of roster reveals was made by PFL on Friday as they announced the eight competitors who will be fighting in the female Lightweight division.
Conveniently announced on International Women’s Day, the eight fighters from all over the globe will face off with each other in their bid to become division champion and win the $1 million prize. The eight fighters are listed below;
Kayla Harrison (3-0)
Morgan Frier (4-1)
Larissa Pacheco (11-2)
Sarah Kaufman (20-4-1 NC)
Genah Fabian (1-0)
Bobbi Jo Dalziel (4-0)
Svetlana Khautova (2-0)
Roberta Samad (4-1)
PFL President of Fighter Operations Ray Sefo was quoted as saying ‘Kayla Harrison is a US household name and the favourite heading into the competition’. Kayla Harrison is an Olympic Judo ace and undefeated thus far in her pro MMA career. However I wouldn’t write off the other contestants just yet, Sarah Kaufman is a former Strikeforce and Invicta Bantamweight Champion and is by far the most experienced fighter in the division, but will the 20lb weight gain be an issue?
Canadian Kickboxing ace Bobbi Jo Dalziel will also be one to watch, as will UFC and TUF contestant Larissa Pacheco. With just 8 competing in this division, compared to the 12 or more we saw last year, expect a highly competitive division and some stars to emerge as we know is the case from last season.
Who do you think is going to take the $1 million prize, and the divisional title aswell? let us know in the comments!
