ONE Championship has today announced a partnership with promotion Pancrase. In a move similar to that of the recent Shooto deal, ONE is really bolstering its presence and network within the Japanese MMA scene ahead of its debut show there on March 31st.
So what does the partnership entail? Under the deal all Champions that reign within Pancrase will get the opportunity to compete under the ONE banner, it also means that participants of the Neo-Blood Tournament will be eligible to compete in the ONE Warrior Series. A handful of prospected amateurs will also be given the opportunity to train at Evolve MMA in Singapore.
ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong continues to show his want to bring a quality product to Asia, on the deal with Pancrase he said;
”Our partnership with Pancrase once again marks the world’s top martial arts organisations coming together to create a new era of martial arts in Japan.”
ONE Championship has been consistently bolstering its roster and its presence within not only Asia but the global market of MMA. Does the UFC have a rival rising up in its midst?
