Jared Cannonier steps up to fight David Branch at UFC 230


Over the weekend, it was announced that Luke Rockhold was forced to pull out of his scheduled bout against Chris Weidman due to an injury, Jacare Souza has been pulled from his scheduled fight with David Branch & is now set to face Chris Weidman in the co main event.

The UFC President Dana White recently spoke to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto & announced that Jarred Cannonier will be stepping up to face David Branch in his first fight at middleweight, Jarred Cannonier was originally scheduled to face Alessio Di Chirico at UFC Fight Night 140 in Argentina.

David Branch is coming off a stunning first round knockout victory over Thiago Santos at UFC Fight Night 128 & Jared Cannonier is coming off 2 losses to Jan Blachowicz & Dominick Reyes, his last win was a 3rd round stoppage of Nick Roehrick at The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale.

UFC 230 will take place at Madison Square Garden on November 3rd, it is headlined by the current UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier VS Derrick Lewis.
