Timeline of UFC 230 Main event

UFC 230 is the next pay-per-view, coming on November 3 2018 with Daniel Cormier vs Derick Lewis headlining the show.

Usually Madison square garden cards are one of the biggest events of the year but this year we only got the confirmation 3 days after UFC 229, which left less than a month before the event.

Some credible sources talked about other possible main events happening at UFC 230 but nothing was ever confirmed.

Here is the time line that finally came to an end October 9 2018.

August 3,2018: – UFC 230 co-main is announced , Nate Diaz ( 19-11-0) VS Dustin Poirier ( 19-11-0). UFC 229 main is announced but not 230.

August 10,2018: – Brendan Schaub (HBO,Below the belt) starts rumouring that Jon Jones might have a lighter sentence and that he might headline the card,in his home state.

rumours starts going around the MMA community as other podcasts,blogs and other outlets, continued on the same topic after.

September 25,2018: – Nate Diaz,followed by Dustin Poirier couple minutes later, announced on Twitter that he will be fighting for the new 165 pounds belt in a division called Super fighter. Quickly Dana White debunked the previous  statement from Diaz and Poirier.

September 20 ,2018: – Conor McGregor (21-4-0) says in gis pre-299 presser that he will quickly KO Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0) and headline the card. Spoiler alert it didn’t went that way.

October 2,2018: – Sijara Eubanks (3-2-0) Vs Valentina Shevchenko (15-3-0)  is announced as reported by Brett Okamoto from ESPN. Valenina is pulled from her fight with Joanna Jedrzejczyk (15-2-0) at UFC 231 in Toronto to save the MSG card.

October 10,2018:- UFC president Dana White breaks the news to ESPN and later confirmed by Daniel Cormier (21-1-0 1NC) that Derick Lewis (21-5-0 1NC),who just fought at UFC 229, will headline Madison square garden on november 3 2018 against Daniel Cormier as reported by Brett Okamoto from ESPN
