Joseph Benavidez Rebooked for TUF 28 Finale vs. Alex Perez

After it was recently announced that Ray Borg was withdrawn from his upcoming bout with Joseph Benavidez. The UFC have quickly sought a replacement fight for the long time contender. Which is scheduled to take place at the Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale, headlined by Welterweight up and comer Kamaru Usman vs. former Champion Rafael Dos Anjos.

Benavidez last appearance in the UFC Octagon saw him defeated in a close Split Decision fight against Sergio Pettis at UFC225. However, after his fight with Borg was cancelled he wasted no time on finding another opponent to share the cage with.

First reported by MMAJunkie and confirmed by UFC Officials. Benavidez will next face dangerous prospect Alex Perez on November 30th in Las Vegas. This new bout will be contested at Flyweight, with Perez walking away victorious in all 3 of his fights since joining the UFC last year. With his most recent performance being at UFC227, where he claimed one of the best knockouts of the year. As he defeated Jose Torrez in the first round with an incredible barrage of straight punches and hooks to finish the fight.

An interesting match up between two exciting fighters, this fight could definitely turn out to be an entertaining one.
