UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones and top Middleweight contender Israel Adesanya seem to be toying with each other about a future fight. Jones revealed months ago via TMZ that he ”had a feeling” he would face Adesanya eventually.
When asked about Jones comments by MMA Fighting, ”The Last Stylebender” had this to say:
”It does make me feel some type of way. I like challenges. Jones is the GOAT right now, right? I’ve already killed one GOAT, I’m hunting the next.”
Adesanya is referring to his previous victory over Anderson Silva, a man many in the MMA world consider the Greatest Of All Time. Jon Jones however, who many fans also refer to as the ‘GOAT’, was quick to respond to the New Zealand natives comments:
A fight between the two would definitely be an exciting fight, both with extremely similar, yet unique stand up styles. Both fighters must get through their respected opponents first. Adesanya meets Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236 this weekend for the interim middleweight title. Jones will face Brazilian Thiago Santos at UFC 239 to defend his Light Heavyweight title.
