UK’s Jake Hadley becomes EFC World Flyweight Champion

Jake Hadley (4-0), from Dudley, UK, became the EFC World Flyweight Champion as he beat TUF 24 competitor Nkazimulo Zulu (10-3-1) in Cape Town. A fighter with huge potential, Hadley was struggling to find a fight in the UK as nobody would step up to face him. His search for a fight took him to the premier MMA promotion in Africa and a title fight against a high-level opponent in Zuluboy.

Zulu, who had finished 9 of his 10 wins so far, was heavy favourite going into the fight. Hadley had other ideas however, as he used supreme jiu-jitsu skills to control almost the entire fight. He spent a huge amount of the fight attached to Zulu’s back, and the South African fighter had no response. In an incredible performance, Hadley displayed superb skills in transition and takedown, and looked dangerous in both top and bottom positions.

If Hadley continues in this vein, it won’t be long until we see him in the top promotions world-wide. “White Kong” Hadley had never come out of the first round before, finishing all of his fights so far easily. His previous opponent ended their fight with a 0-25 record. The step up in class here for Hadley was immense, yet you wouldn’t know it. It’s surely only a matter of time before the 4-time UK amateur MMA champion finds himself in the UFC. Hadley has shown he is one of the top prospects coming out of the UK.
