UFC 242: Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Dustin Poirier Official

Lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov has been officially booked to face interim champ Dustin Poirier to headline UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi. This would mark the UFC’s first visit to Abu Dhabi, and it has the biggest Muslim star in MMA headlining against a tough challenger.

Khabib is undefeated and looked unstoppable all throughout his career. He uses his dominant grappling to smash his opponents and faces barely any adversity. He just has his way with everybody. He only ever lost one round in the UFC, against Conor Mcgregor at UFC 229. He can truly do it all and he’s been a force in the UFC ever since his debut.

Dustin Poirier has had a career similar to that of Michael Bisping in a way. He was always at the top of his division, one fight away from a title shot and lost the fight that would take him to that next level. That was until he started his legendary run beating world champion after world champion. He beat Anthony Pettis, Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez and Max Holloway back to back. He won the interim title against Holloway in impressive fashion, rocking the featherweight champion multiple times to win the decision. This fight marks Dustin finally getting his title shot.
