Jon Jones guarantees a rubber match with Daniel Cormier will NOT happen

It seems as though Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier are always discussing a rubber match to close out their bitter rivalry. With the score at 1-0-1 NC to Jones, fans want to truly see who is the better fighter. The current UFC light-heavyweight champion – however – doesn’t believe that he and ‘DC‘ will ever be paired up again.

Despite a massive heavyweight title defence this Saturday, Daniel Cormier seems to have his attention set on his greatest rival, Jon Jones. He was quoted as saying that the only other big fight that he would stay for – before retirement – would be Jones at 205lbs. Cormier has not competed at 205lbs since January 2018, when he defended his title against Volkan Oezdemir.

Bones‘ doesn’t believe that Cormier would make the title limit of light-heavyweight safely, taking to Twitter to say so.

It didn’t take much time at all for the heavyweight champ reply, which then turned into a back-and-forth.

As we mentioned, Cormier is scheduled to defend his title this weekend against a former foe in Stipe Miocic. It will headline UFC 241 in the Honda Center, Anahiem, California, the same venue where he last fought Jon Jones.
