Dustin Poirier “A win over Khabib makes me the best lightweight of all time”

Interim Champion Dustin Poirier, has let his feelings be known about what a win over undefeated Russian fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov, will do for his career and his legacy.

In an exclusive interview with MMA fighting the American Top Team star said:

“It’s huge. It’s history. When I go out there and beat Khabib, it’s not a question of am I the best UFC lightweight? It’d a question of am I the best lightweight to ever fight in mixed martial arts with the run I’m on. Max Holloway, Anthony Pettis, Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez, winning over these guys in a row in main events, over and over, that’s the best run in lightweight history.”

Dustin also said if he finishes him it makes him look even better and puts him way ahead of everyone else he went onto to say “if I go out there and stop Khabib, I’m the best lightweight fighter to ever strap on a pair of four-ounce-gloves. Simple and plain, I’m not wrong in saying that.”

Dustin Poirier will face Khabib Nurmagomedov this weekend at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi where he will challenge the undefeated Dagestani in a bid to unify the Lightweight belts.
