In what will be the conclusion to a 2-year saga, UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and former interim champion Colby Covington will settle there beef. It will be the first defence of Usman’s title & a chance Covington to undoubtedly prove that he is the best at 170lbs.

It seemed as if the two were on a collision course since late 2017. Covington, who had become a more brash, outspoken, ‘heel‘ character, had earned himself an interim title shot off of a dominate win over Demian Maia. During a press-conference to promote their fights in 2018, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare‘ and ‘Chaos‘ got into a bitter exchange of words.

Speaking to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani about the previously fallen-through bout, Covington said, “This ain’t for some $50,000 Bernie Sanders participation trophy. This is The American Dream vs The Nebraskan Nightmare. It’s the Undisputed UFC Welterweight Title. It’s the most coveted title in all of sports vs ‘Marty FakeNewsman’s‘ little Power Ranger belt. Don’t miss it, snowflakes.”
