Two of MMA’s most experienced veterans, Fedor Emelianenko & Quinton ‘Rampage‘ Jackson, are set to headline Bellator’s first visit to Japan.
Signing a ‘farewell deal’ with Bellator earlier this year, one of the heavyweight division’s greatest ever will return to a familiar audience on December 29th. Standing opposite him will be fellow legend and former UFC light-heavyweight champion ‘Rampage‘ Jackson. The three-round bout will take place in the Saitama Super Arena.
The Russian has gone 2-2 since the beginning of his Bellator tenure in 2017. This bout will be Emeliankenko’s first since losing to Ryan Bader in the final of Bellator’s heavyweight grand-prix. ‘The Last Emperor’ last fought in front of a Japanese crowd in 2015, defeating Singh Jaideep via first-round TKO.
‘Rampage‘ last competed in Japan during his PRIDE FC tenure in 2006. Beginning in 2013, Jackson has gone 5-2 in Bellator MMA (excluding a win over Fabio Maldonado at UFC 186). He is coming off of a win over Wanderlai Silva at Bellator 206.
