It’s the fight that MMA fans have been waiting to see for almost 4 years. Now, it appears that we will finally be getting it!

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former interim champion Tony Ferguson have been scheduled to compete a shocking 4 times. Per Ali Abdeliziz – Khabib’s manager – the Russian megastar is open to defending his title for the 3rd time against his long-time rival in the spring of 2020. Khabib is coming off of a submission win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 242.

El Cucuy‘ recently revealed that a fight announcement of his would be imminent. Almost all fight fans assumed that the bout would be against Khabib Nurmagomedov – however – nothing has come to light. Ferguson pushed for a fight with his rival at UFC 245, which is headlined Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington.

Esteemed MMA journalist Ariel Helwani said that he has been hearing rumours regarding the location of the potential title fight, which is New York. The UFC last visited the Big Apple during the spring in 2017, at UFC 210: Cormier vs Rumble 2.
